To align with our motto, "In the Interest of The Pigeon," we have established specific guidelines for race liberations and participation in the upcoming 2024 races and other events. Please take note of the following key points:

Race Rules: All race liberations, basketing, clocking, and results will be conducted under the auspices of the new Odra general Racing Rules of On the Day Racing, as detailed on our website.

Transport Membership: To participate in these races, you can acquire an annual transport membership at a cost of R 3,850 per 25 Bird basket. This membership includes several benefits:

• Transporting birds to races/sprints for 15 weeks.

• Goldendrop challenges (<0.075KLPHF) on races 6 – 15 with 2 x 1 Oz Bullion Krugerrand coins valued at R 82K.

• All birds from the competing loft liberated in the race must be home on the day of liberation before 20:00 Hr.

• Other inclusions: weekly cleaned baskets with seals and fresh bedding, race secretary admin complete with live results on Pigeonprogram.com, and R5000 theft and accident cover per basket.

Open to All Lofts: The Goldendrop competition is open to all lofts outside of Odra's transport clients, with an entry fee of R 750 per team. The 10-race series will commence on 31st May 2024 and conclude on 5th September 2024.

Team Sizes: Teams can consist of 15 birds of any age, and you may enter as many teams as you want, depending on the number of baskets purchased. Only the 15 birds nominated for each team or, if not nominated, the first 15 birds basketed in the race will count for Plus 1 and LG averages points. Best-bird points will be awarded to all birds raced, accumulating from any team.

Young Bird Inclusion: Young birds will accumulate points in both Open and young bird races.

Stilfontein Sprint Series: The 14-race Stilfontein Sprint Series will be an official race with a points award calculated on a plus 1 basis and LG for all birds competing at a price of R1850 per 25 bird basket.

Race Liberation Decision: Liberation sites as per the race program are indicative and may change based on weather forecasts available on www.findfinder.com. Final decisions may be announced as late as 10:00hr on the day before the race. Competitors are advised to prepare their birds for the expected hours on the wing, indicated on the race program, not the distance of the liberation site.

Simultaneous Liberation: Yearling and Open-race birds will be liberated simultaneously.

Liberation Time: Liberation time will be determined by an Android Lux light meter application. A reading of 400 Lux will be considered as "sunrise," combined with a clear distance of site estimate of 10 Km. Birds will be liberated if there are no other weather hazards such as strong winds exceeding 30 Kmph, rain, hail, or snow.
